It is a common thing to look like tourists when you are on vacation. I bet the first idea that would come into mind would be shorts, belt bags, cotton shirts with the hat and the map. Well, at least that’s how we picture most of the American tourists. Have you ever thought about how other tourists travel? Like for instance, Koreans. Have you happened to bump into them in the airport? It’s actually easy to notice them. Of course except for their skin color and little eyes. But then again, you have to tell them apart from other Asian tourists like the Japanese or the Chinese.

Here’s a checklist so you would know which travelers are Koreans:

  1. Travel in couples. It’s always two for a company, usually lover birds. You can’t blame them because traveling in great places becomes even more exciting if shared with someone, especially your significant other.
  2. The matching outfit. So they travel as couples, that includes their clothes and accessories. They have to match for some reason. Perhaps it’s so they’re easy to track when lost from the group. Considering the language barrier, it is easy to point on a shirt and somehow ask “Have you seen someone with the same shirt or hat?”
  3. Standing near the information booth. Again, it really has something to do with the language. They always double check the flight schedule and the gate, asking the staff every 10 minutes.
  4. The souvenirs. Yeah, they tend to wear and carry anything that has been from the place. Although, it is still applicable with other tourists, Koreans are just into it. It’s amazing actually.

Koreans really take their vacation very seriously, especially if they are going for a luxurious trip. They somehow stick to the organized schedule. Maybe it’s their culture or something else, but they are really serious even in having fun. Wow!
